As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with our Head Chef and owners to craft and execute a menu rooted in regional Victorian produce. This is a hands-on role ideal for a chef who loves the rhythm of a small, professional kitchen and thrives on delivering high-quality, seasonal dishes with consistency and creativity.

Task & Responsibilities
  • Assist in day-to-day kitchen operations and service delivery
  • Take the lead in the Head Chef’s absence
  • Contribute to seasonal menu planning and farm-to-table innovation
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene and food safety standards are met (HACCP knowledge required)
  • Mentor and support junior kitchen staff
  • Help manage stock, ordering, and cost control
  • Collaborate with front-of-house and owners to deliver a memorable guest experience
Qualification & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally as a Sous Chef
  • Passionate about local, sustainable food and regional hospitality
  • Confident working in a fast-paced yet quality-driven environment
  • Strong communication, time management, and leadership skills
  • Reliable, adaptable, and eager to be part of a close-knit team
  • Formal culinary qualifications preferred
